T25 flange 8v exhaust manifold?
« on: April 07, 2016, 09:51:28 pm »
Does no one make them? All of the ones I've seen that are listed as "T25" have the same bore of a T3 but with the T25 bolt pattern, like they are all cast as T3 units but they drill whatever bolt pattern you want after which makes the T25 version useless...
I'm purchasing a small Holset for my Ecodiesel in a couple weeks and trying to figure this side of the swap out. Any help would be appreciated.

See I was looking at that one too, but seems like it has the T3 sized exhaust outlet. Do you remember how it looked for size or have any pics?

I think my manifold is the exact same, I'ts really annoying that T25 gasket doesn't really fit since center hole is too big,
but I put it on with gasket anyway and it was holding fine.

EDIT// just checked the price, whoa I thought I was paying dear back then, but this really is a bit much... Someone is busy earn'n there, this piece probably cost 10 bucks delivered from China. I am definitely learning mandarin next year  ;D

Also: high quality german product? Not with that ugly cast lines all over it it ain't, also ''Ta technix'' is Austrian firm...

Still, it works  ::)

Well how does that work going into the exhaust housing of the turbo since it's a smaller inlet? I feel like all the exhaust would be hitting a wall if you know what I mean.
I know, I do see some from China, but T3 for like $20, but who knows what shipping costs.

If you look at my sig line in build thread 2 you will have all you can read on what I did to the car. I have the HE221w and an ebay cast iron t25 manifold I gave around 90.00 for 3 years ago.

That's the same turbo I'm going to run, the 5.5 cm version. I guess it was easier to come by T25 manifolds then. Getting emails back from ebay sellers is the worst too.
I would, but this tapatalk thing is confusing to me...

I'm using one of the Ebay T3 manifolds, combined with a T3-T25 adapter.  If I had it to do again, I'd probably spend the extra money for the dedicated T25 manifold.

I'm using an HE200WG turbo.

Steve.

I thought about running that adapter too but I'm not sure I have enough room in a Mk2 engine bay, it's gonna be close.

You won't have room. Mine without the adapter is 1/4" to maybe 1/2" off the firewall with no adapter.

I take it you have a mk2 also? The guy I'm buying it from sent me a pic of the length from the manifold he sells to the back of the he221w and I'd say 9" to be safe? I measured 10" from my cylinder head to firewall in about the position it will be in.

Yes I have an 86 jetta. look here if you want http://vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php/topic,31758.0.html

That is the T25 manifold in the link, same as I have. If you put a couple gaskets in between the turbo and the manifold it won't work. It may fit for a second, but I am running some poly engine mounts and still sometimes will hear the turbo kiss the firewall. That engine moves remember and listen, it will not fit without cutting your firewall with an adapter.

Here is another... http://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-Corrado-Jetta-2-0L-8V-1-8L-G60-PG-Turbo-T25-Exhaust-Manifold-Turbo-Manifold-/351667846098?hash=item51e1097bd2:m:mqWWoYffYYP4En0Z_eHx14A

it cost me around 1,000 dollars to buy and mount my holset, labor was free as it was mine. It isn't a cheap endeavor
