i dont know what else to tell you,, a parts place pump should be aok, although they are not as well thought of in the last couple of years. i perfect pump would be giles, but im not one to talk, i havent gotten even another pump since ive owned diesels. the parts place pump, make sure it has one of those new types of seal in it. id also prob suggest (insert fatmoblie here), is clear lines, and such.
you say you have dial, as long as you can time her right and not have a problem, theres a couple of other things you get to when you normally do a timing job. 3 seals, 1 oring, 1 gasket, belt, tensioner, water pump, coolant. the idle (as long as timing is right on), is adjusted at the pump top, the throttle stop is adjustable, like a 10mm open-end, and either a small screwdriver, or a slotted screwdriver. think idle is like 900rpm +/-50. i just when warm set idle, cold start in. by ear. the other end, the throttle stop, is the high rpm setting, DoNot touch that end.
