Hi all, new here.
I am planning to fit a 1.6GTD (SB code) engine out of a mk2 golf in a '85 mk2 scirocco, with a few mods along the way.
I have been lurking and reading, so the plan is,
EGT and boost gauges.
Mercedes sprinter van front mounted intercooler, upping the boost (K14 turbo) and modding the blow off valve on the inlet manifold.
Steel headgasket, possibly some mild porting/matching manifolds to head and a three angle valve job.
2.5" all the way through exhaust.
Modifying the injector pump, governor, fuelling boost pin etc. I would be happy with around 120-130 bhp if possible
I may do a full rebuild on the engine, depending on how it looks when I whip the head off. it is apparently a good runner, done 216k miles.
This will be a weekend spare time project, so may take some time... ha. The scirocco was last on the road in 1997!
There will no doubt be plenty of questions along the way, hence the reason for me joining up on here!
