Anyone interested in aluminum thermostat housings?
« on: November 10, 2015, 06:53:08 am »
I have a guy that I sell to that does aluminum, bronze, and some iron castings. He is looking for short run aluminum work. I figured if the t stat housings would be a thing, as long as no one else is making them that I see. If you all are interested I would take him one as a pattern and see how much. If no interest I will let it go.

I'd be interested in a modified housing if he could do it. Basically need the lower coolant hose outlet to be cut back and have a 90 degree barb installed in its place. I was going to try brazing it but if he could do it professionally thatd be way better.

Also the Suzuki swap crowd would definitely be interested in a aluminum housing that could be installed in the opposite direction. With hose routing in our engine bays all the hoses run straight into the motor mount which makes it quite difficult to get it all together without kinks

Draw it and he can do it, but it isn't free. All I could do is take him what you want.

I found a source for the OE on these, as I have a BRAND NEW one in the garage right now.

I'll have to find it to get a part number. They're out there.
