Well, I received my precups from Eurocar Togliani a few weeks ago.  After spending a couple of Saturday afternoons porting the head and cleaning it up, I tried inserting one of the precups and discovered they are the wrong size.   :(

The small diameter is the same as my original (1.6 NA hydraulic) ones at 25.35 mm, but the large diameter is too big...32 mm vice 30 mm.  I believe they're for a 1.6 mechanical head.  Assuming they sent me the correct part #, I can confirm the dimensions listed in the Eurocar catalog for P3075 are incorrect.

Don't know if this helps as far as the original VAG numbers but have two sets here: 1) set roughly the same dimensions (slightly larger) to the VWPCC795000STD insets is in a bag labeled VW #068-103-391 (another associated number on the bag is 16-9024), but i believe might be for a 1.5 NA since it is a 068 prefix with no triangle stamp and the other 2) set is VW #069-103-391 (with two other part number 16-9023 and Mctelli 120019) so the right prefix for a turbo diesel (or the bag was mislabeled 069 somewhere?) but its size corresponds to a slightly oversized (but maybe that is because of the plastic bag wrap) VWPCC765000 insert and it has no triangle stamp.

Do you still have the set of 068103391 precups?  Can you measure them?  I'm 99% sure that's the size I need, if I can find some.  This is really frustrating.

Thanks.

The 068-103-391 i have here:  small diameter measures between 25.22-25.25mm, large diameter is 30.45-30.51, and the lip is 4.28-4.34 tall.  The ones removed were approximately 25.20, 30.00, 3.9 (the head and precups had been resurfaced at least once)

These might fit if they have them:

i am porting 1/2 way through porting the head they are going to so will know in a week or so if they fit.  Have to see about welding up a flaw in the casting of a valve chamber first.

Thanks for the reply.  Sounds like they're very close in size to mine, but I wonder if they're interchangeable -- the lip seems quite a bit taller, which would require machining of the precup seats in the head, and I don't have any local machine shops that will do that.

I saw these on Italian ebay:  http://www.ebay.it/itm/Precamere-per-motori-Diesel-Volkswagen-VW-Golf-/161944898670  They are listed as "new," but doesn't it look like they've been machined?

If I can't find any replacement precups, I guess I'll start looking for an AAZ head (I can get precups at NAPA), or ship my head to a reputable diesel machine shop to have the 32mm precups fitted.

I bought 8 prechambers back in 2012 from Eurocar Togliani.   They were boxed "sonax" and the part number was P3026.    Needed a little machining to get them into a 1983 CY block and unmolested German TD head.   Heated head to 325F and froze prechambers with dry ice, measured both, then machined a .002" interference fit.    So far, so good.

Price then was 145 Euros for all 8; including shipping.

i wouldn't count on getting any from napa, i can check availability and it looks like they may only have one in the country, calling a napa location would be able to give you a better idea than i can
