Hello everyone. I just joined the forum this morning after reading most of the m-tdi info pages. I bought a 1980 Caddy with a 1.6n/a about 2 years ago after moving here from NY. I started in the VW scene when I was 15 with air cooled and have had/built many type 1's. this is my first vw diesel and am loving the truck. It's my daily driver and it keeps the mileage off my scat pack challenger  :) :).
The previous owner had no history of the vehicle or what was in it. He actually handed me receipts to show he had the wipers recently replaced. I think he had some dreams then realized he did not know what he got himself into.
So far I've replaced the dash and the front to round headlights from an 89 cabby. The front was almost falling off and the wiring was shot. Flipped the rear axel and put some coil overs on the front.  Now ide like to introduce some power to keep up with highway traffic here in so-cal. I see the Aaz is the way to go or an m-tdi. If anyone is local , let me know, I'd like to hit some of the local car and coffee with other vw enthusiasts!!

Welcome!

You'll probably find it easier to go for an AHU with a M-TDI pump than to do an AAZ - it's pretty hard to find AAZs in the states in general and they seem to cost as much as TDIs despite not being as efficient nor as durable.

Good luck!
