Morning all,yes advice on the above please [spigot bearing,sump etc]
Spain has high hot winds and long hills...a bad combination for a heavy brick shaped van!

I'd install an exhaust gas temperature pyrometer and the best new pre-cups you can get in a "SB" 1.6 syncro vanagon - -  no matter what; as that engine is going to be under a LOT of thermal stress.

Thanks,At the mo' the van has a "JX"engine with a front mounted oil cooler,ETG pre-turbo [ seen 800deg c !],oil pressure n temp and a boost gauge [ .6bar].
The plan is to fit the "SB" engine with its water cooled turbo and intercooler..
