mk2 idi sowo prep (14+ hour drive)
« on: March 30, 2015, 12:03:46 am »
Hey guys,

I have an na idi with 308k that I've owned for about 5k miles. My plan is to k14 it, <15psi fmic possible water inj. I need the car dead nuts reliable for the 14 hour trip each way.

What are some good idi specific things to check out before cruising down? Just put new timing belt, going to do various brake lines, water separator delete, new fuel lines/hard lines etc but just want to make sure it's good to go.

Since you mentioned brake lines rear wheel bearings and tires come to mind. Make sure the timing belt isn't too tight. If you have AC keep spare v belts in the car.
