yea who spells correctly anymore???iknow how,,,,but we arent in english class,,i didnt think it was that bad,,,especially w/my screwed up spacebar,,,,,,,,,,,i think its a bunch of losers, that iwas speaking over their head,,and they couldnt find anything better to do since they didnt have any answewrs for me,,,,,,,,,

it was basically the same post imade here a few weeks ago,,imay have even cut and pasted it too,,,,ilove u guys for not killing me over some spelling,,,,i dont wanna drop names,but my good friend rabbittree doesnt type the greatest sometimes,,,but i deal with it,,,,get thru it,and post a reply regarding the subject,not grammer!!! i heart vwdiesel.net,,,,,,,,,,now,,where cani buy vwdiesel.net stickers?

Im with you bud.. English is not my first language and i made mistakes.. We are not here in an English or French class, we are here to discuss mechanic :wink:

But stickers might be a nice thing..

Well, you've just gotta learn the Vhortex style if you want to post on Vhortex and get replies that are useful... :roll: (Just give them heat when they give you heat. Whatever you do, do NOT say "I'm gonna report you", or start begging for help. "Ufck you" works much better.)

And get a new keyboard.

Goodwill has IBM Model Ms usually for about $5. And, an IBM Model M will survive the nuclear apocalypse, so you don't have to worry about it dying.

FWIW, a Model M will still work on a laptop... just, if you don't have a PS/2 port, you'll need to get a USB adaptor. I recommend this one.

Of course, it'll be slightly less portable, as the Model M weighs about five pounds.

The reason that you get flamed is because people are constantly trying to shake the stereoptype that carr buff's are illiterate, slack jaw'd yocals. So when someone comes across as if they're really not even trying to spell correctly then they think "if he's not puting in a effort, why should I put effort into helping him" ?

I'm not saying what they're doing is right, I'm just saying this is why they do it.
I've been on 4 automotive forums and they ALL do it!
When you want good help, it's a good idea to put in a little extra effort to re-read your post before you press the "submit" button.

Well thought out posts rarely go unanswered.

When a post is just too hard to read and it takes me several minutes to decipher it then it's just not worth reading. If English isn't your primary language then that's acceptable. It's obvious in the post as grammar is usually bad but you get the point. Ironically, the esl people can spell better than a lot of the native english speakers. If english is your first language and you're just not even trying then I will take no pitty on you. As far as I'm concerned, proper spelling/grammer is a matter of respect for those who would read it. I'm not sure why nobody else sees it this way.

I'll agree with you on that. Maybe it's about the effort put forward to make the post readable. I re-read mine a few times before I hit preview and then again before I hit post.
I would never hold it against anyone, but keep in mind that a well thought-out post will get taken much more seriously.

(I do commit a little bit of comma abuse.)

i make short statements ,not really full sentences,,,,,lotta commas to sorta mean,"next thought",,,,,and it was a copied post i did put here,,, :wink: its sorta ok now,,someone is chattin over there now,,,,,,,still got issues with governor,but,,, :roll: ill post somewhere else about that :arrow:

I'm in complete agreement with vwmike on this one. Certainly we can all agree this is not Grammar School, but more and more I'm seeing a complete bastardising of the English language, both written and verbal. Short sentences that are straight to the point are fine, but non punctuated, run on sentences that make me feel like I need a 'Dick Tracy Decoder Ring' to translate it, well it just makes my head hurt. which is a shame since the poster probably has legitimate concern or question which we would like to help him with......after all, that's really why we are all here.... ....
