WTB injection pump delivery valve shims
« on: January 17, 2015, 07:55:27 pm »
Hi,
I have a 1.9L NA IDI AAZ engine in my 1980 caddy.  I am in the process of cleaning the delivery valves and I noticed that I'm missing the shim that go inside the brass unions where the delivery valve sits on 2 of them.

I need the shims which is the 2nd item from the right.

The 2 shims I have are 1/16" thick.  I need 2 more.  The 10 digit number on my pump is 0 460 484 108 .

Anyone have any spares they are willing to sell me?

Does anyone know of any vendors that sell these minor parts?

I've contacted several and they all said not those shims.  Have a specific vendor to contact?  I'm kinda getting desperate...

While it won't be correct, you can use shims from any pump, 1.6 and 1.5l included. The delivery valves are factory set at the factory and Bosch shops don't even fiddle with them. Bosch likes to keep lots of secrets. If you have a local fuel shop just ask for 2 off a core pump they have. It will run. Ideally you should get a matched set of 4 (keep all the parts seperate) but if you need to get on the road...

I have my old 1.5L injection pump, and those spacers have a much smaller hole.  Don't know if it will impede flow enough to matter.

Yes, I want to get my caddy back on the road.  Kinda frustrating that such a small part is causing all sorts of grief.  :'(

Contact libbydiesel on this forum.  He had new long delivery valves for sale a while back.  Perhaps he can sell you a couple of new ones, or even a complete set?

Really would love to just buy the shims.  If I ever get rich, I'm going to corner the market on these things...  :-)
