where can I pick up an Electronic parts catalogue?

I see people refer to them all the time. Is it something I can pick up?

You find someone who has it, and ask nicely. ;)

(No, I don't have it. Yet.)

Or, you start a VW dealership, and take over from the parts guy you hired when you need to do an ETKA lookup. ;)

Speaking of sharing, if you'd care to share your location, you might find someone on this or another VW forum that's local to you with a copy they're willing to duplicate...

Emule has different languages,as it's a worldwide P2P sharing program.

ETKA also comes in different languages,just pick the one you need.Sometimes you have to download a few to get the right one.
