Tintin,
thanks for that, do you know what year Fiat this is? I was told it was a 2002 vehicle, did anybody even make an IDI engine in 2002?
Looks like i'm still after a landrover 300TDi ...
I found a 200TDi landrover pump today, now i have 4 IP's hopefully one of them will work for me
pump code:
0460 414 068
Anybody like to comment? Tintin? Snakemaster? Oldskool rich? Anybody?
Figured its an 11mm head, & gotta sort the pulley out...
0 460 414 068 = renault master 2.5 TDI in Bosch progam.
Pump internal are the same as Fiat 2.5TDid pump.
Very good choice for a basic M-tdi pump.
Great, just what I wanted to hear really. Thanks for that Tintin.
Does the bosch program say how much advance it should be set to?
My starting point would have to be 1.54, as advised by Sprockets on the "mtdi timing" for Oldskool Rich's 300TDi.
I have heard that 1.57 or 1.58 works best
My 300TDI pump is timed at about 1.45 on my engine. My diesel timing light shows that to be right around 12.5-13 degrees BTDC which is on the high side.
When you are combing a pump, engine and injectors that were never designed to be used together originally there won't be a book spec - you will need to play a bit to find the 'right' value. If you can get a hold of a diesel timing light things will be a lot easier - you can adjust to get the right reading, then measure with the dial gauge to know where the 'correct' setting is.
With various mTDI pumps I have built, with the pulse adapter reading set to 12°BTDC on each, the plunger lift has been widely varied by more than a 1/2mm. Unless comparing pumps that are built with the same parts and fitted to engines with closely matching injectors, any plunger lift measurement is just academic.
for the tdi e the static timing is arround 0,712 with de110 with de 015 1mm to 0,85.
What does that have to do with timing an mTDI?
