Hey guys, ive been on here for some time now but ive only just registered as ive now got a diesel motor :lol:.
Its a 99 caddy van 1.9 non turbo.
Problem is ive bought the van as a non runner as it was crashed and sold at auction.
Ive now repaired all the pannel work and ive started to work on the engine, im no diesel expert tho. Ive put a hand pump in line to force feed the diesel pump with diesel while im testing. whats happeing is the diesel is getting into the pump but none is coming out when im cranking.
(if i take the main diesel line that goes into the pump off and put my finger over the pipe coming from the pump theres very very slight suction. is this normal?)
Ive checked the stop valve that has the thick black wire going to it on the back of the pump and it works fine, its got 12v when ign is on and it also clicks.
Theres another box on the front of the pump with wires going to it and i assume that this is some sort of pump ecu or maybe an immobliser?
Also ive got no glow plug lights on the dash when i turn the ign on.
