I'd go for something that has a larger diameter and shorter stroke. Something like a Festo 50-30 would be more appropriate, IMO.
Good to know. I know just about nothing on this type of thing. One other question is how do these cylinders hold up to engine heat?
I'm not sure. I still have not made a prototype of this type of control. I also don't plan to. My two concerns would be engine heat and the brine solution the powers that be like to use to dissolve cars. The next vnt controls I use will be electronic.
I really wanted to stay away from electronic for my jeep, but I think it maybe more reliable in the long run. The parts to make this style are not free either and that was my other thinking. Try to get something relatively easy to build and cheap and reliable...you can only pick 2 at most.
