WTB reverse light harness connector
« on: June 25, 2014, 08:34:34 am »
Ever since I swapped tranny from AVX to ACN, I have no reverse light because the connector is different. I need an 8 pin harness connector with about 6 inches of wires on it to make a jumper/splice to my harness connector. Here's a pic of the connector on the ACN, it is full of dirt and oil with nothing plugged into it for 2 years.

I'd just solder a pair of leads directly to the pins and put connectors at the harness.

MOST of the connector housings can still be ordered from VW, though they aren't cheap.  You can get the proper pins from them too.  The hard part is finding the number - a good parts counter guy at a dealership or a specialty shop with access to EKTA can help.

I used female spades and made a little harness with a disconnect on mine, and siliconed the inside of the switch to keep crud out, covered it all with a factory boot.
I despise that stupid little piece of plastic crap.
