hi
just got this on my hands...
tag reads s100 012k
211040491
04281437k

unfortunaly i cant remove the cold side as i cant take the circlip out at home,so exducer side is unknown to me know...
hot side has 40mm exducer and 45mm inducer.

cold side has 40mm inducer but for now cant say the exducer for the above reasons.
it came from a deutz engine with 3.1cc capacity.
when i bought it i thought it would be bigger as i want to put it on a 1.6/1.9 engine and take atleast 160whp.
guessing is a bit short what do you think?

40mm inducer should be able to get your hp goal, do you know anything about the turbine housing?

can get thecold side out...
anything i can check with it still atached?
on the hot side i tried to removed the manifold so i can measure the a/r but the nuts are way rusted out.
the radius seems to be around 60mm and without removing the manifold i can guesstimate the area would be around 40 or 45.
but it seems so exterior smaller comparing to a k24 that i wonder how much power could he make...

ok,couple more pics.
is this common?2 blades desgin?

exhaust port

with deutz exhaust manifold

overall cold side size

it has a little shaft play but with oil it would be minimal.blades are good so i expect the turbo to be a good runner if it serves what i want.

take it apart and some measurements
sizes are a few posts below, from alcaid.
turbine area seems to be 37-40(37 vertical and 40 horizontal) and radius 60

Compressor exducer is too small, will not support the boost needed for 160+whp....
If A/R is correct it will be extremely laggy!

how much can i expect from this turbo?
it was a ebay buy,if it doesn't work close to that i will sell it and search for another, plan on building the engine for the cheap i can get...
already have a good 1.6 TD block for 40e,a free 1.9 head and custom audi intake manifold.at the machine shop they will give me the best used pre-cups they have from scrap heads and check for leaks and straightness for 40e.
the car is a 1980 westmoreland rabbit that was imported to portugal by the first owner, and again, free to me

i will do all the mechanic and bodywork myself and dont plan on spending more than 700e to have a decent, good looking and fairly quick bunny.
so i don't plan to pay more than 100e for the turbo,so auctions and patience are my friends...
i want a wastegated turbo, from what cars can i find a turbo that would be good enough?

Are you sure you measured correctly?
04281437KZ is supposed to be:
48.4/34.3mm compressor wheel
47.0/40.0mm turbine wheel

i will take pics with measurements but yes,the ones i took are somewhat accurate.it wasnt a digital vernier but i can get one.
cold side intake diameter is 40mm and the turbine almost touches the case so 34.3 is too small.
do you have compressor maps for it?info on small schwitzer turbos are hard to come by...
thanks for the reply!

post pics of the rabbit
i agree with alcaid that u may have measured wrong if the inducer and exducer are the sizes u say that'd be like an 80 trim, which would be a really strange size, and also like alcaid said, that type of a trim would not make high boost efficiently.
also, the compressor blade design like that is pretty much standard now. there are other types, but thats most common.

Double check the measurements and I might be able to help out with a compressor map, but more than likely this turbo is not capable of anything more than 120-130whp and still be very laggy

rabbit is being "restored".
mid that i am portuguese so this is a very rare car here!

edit:
alcaid, you stand correct in the diameter od the wheels.thanks!

what sizes on compressor and turbine wheels should i look for?
k24 type of lag is ok to me...
problem is that is easier to find a turbo searching for the car where it came in ebay...

and that is only oil cooled...
