Try searching.
Use the Advanced Search, using boolean instead of natural language.
Search for this:
radio AND remove
And search in the General TDI Discussion - A4 TDIs (VE and PD) and the Upgrades (non TDI Engine related) sections. (use Ctrl to select more than one section in the search)

There are special radio removal tools, which fit into the slots on either side of the radio.
You can use any thin piece of metal, all you need to do is gently get it into the slot far enough to release the clips, and the radio will slide right out.
A local stereo shop should also have them, either for sale,or they may even let you borrow them to pop it loose in the parking lot.Buy them a coffee, and maybe they will pop it out for you.

It wasn't meant to.
It's a link to a forum where you can find the info you seek, as requested.
Use bhtooefr's searching advice, &/or wyldman's removal advice, and voila, success.
BlackTieTD's gracious offer is just the ticket...if anyone knew where you are...
Edited edit: I didn't know there was a time limit on searches, oh well, I tried
