Couple Mk1 Rabbit Diesel Projects Caddy + Rabbit + Mk2 TD Motor

Today i made a deal  and picked up an old Camper Van -




So i have decided to punt my Mk1' Diesel projects and get this motorless Van on the road hopefully before my 40th Bday ( july 25th in case anyone wants to give me gifts )

First -   1982 Rabbit Diesel Pick up truck.
First impression is NOT good - but its from texas and has SOLID strut towers - which is where these FAIL -  the diesel motor is locked up - it also a 5 speed car.
Broken window ( i have one ) caused interior to SWOLL up been sitting along time -  someone picked up the truck with fork lift -so the rockers have dents from that happening but its NOT rusty - the only rust i found is around back window...    on pass side.  i paid $600 for this -

Second:  1981 Rabbit diesel 4 door - another Texas car - NO RUST -  motor partially disassembled from an attemped / failed water pump install by previous owner -  car is a very cool " patina " 4 speed diesel - again does not run -  i paid $500 for it.



I have a turbo diesel motor from 1992 Golf -  already removed -  $1000  to go with one or both of these cars. Has a ford turbo installed - taped for boost gauge and pryometer gauge.
Ran and drove -  ( i sold transmission )




Anyone down for some Mk1 fun?    I know a guy in bellevue that has good fenders for the truck  ( these are dented )  -  i grabbed some decent door panels from the yard the other day and have some stuff in shop that can be negotiated.
