Clutch cable guide tube alinment

This is the tube that is attached to the pedal assembly that goes thru the firewall and is held in place by a Retaining Washer (N-900-157-01).

My Retaining Washer broke, and the clutch cable frayed due to cutting a groove in the tube.

After repositioning the tube thru the firewall, when I step on the clutch pedal. the tube repositions it's self and the cable is at the top again.

In Search, one suggestion was to cut a new "hook" in the clutch pedal it's self, in order to line up the cable and the pedal. Another mentions the routing of the cable to "aline" the forces to keep the cable centered in the guide tube.

After several hours with port-a-power, bolts, large drift alinement pins....cable is still not centered in the tube....and the pedal end of the cable runs into the tube when releasing the clutch pedal.

Buds may be leagle in Colorado and up North some, just not here in Utah.

I usually reweld the guide tube,.. good this time not the factory tack job.
 Needs to be removed from car to do, but it's permanent.

Thought about that one, how does one aline the tube prior to welding?

I did manage to get the tube against the firewall (More bolts and sweat and blood, not to mention time.)

I also pushed the retaining washer toward the firewall more, BUT it still does not aline correctly. Any one got a picture of how the cable goes from the trany to the firewall? Over the booster and the master cylinder just does not look correct and puts the forces right back where I do not want them.
