first read about that method in about 1995.

i didn't go in depth on the website, but i was given to understand that different systems react to different flash patterns.

and some municipalities have a system that is set up to go 4-way red when tripped.

In some states using one is major bust, akin to DWI or reckless driving.

Doesn't look  like quite as much fun as the 850W spotlights on my Caprice.
That car made me a bad person sometimes.

A guy I used to work with said he could use an old remote control to change stop lights. He said a lot of things lol.

Well it's a real thing. Some stop lights have sensors that detect a series of flashes from the strobe (or some other emitter) on the front of an emergency vehicle.

These systems aren't in use in every metropolis let alone every intersection.

And what i read about them almost 20 years ago, called them an opto-mod, indicated that some of them need a carrier signal + pulses like a remote control, some of them just pulses, etc. it gave examples. A lot of ways to skin that cat.

And yeah, any judge will buy the argument that using one is tantamount with tampering with a traffic safety device.
