1.9 diesel pump problems

i fitted a golf 1.9 n/a motor in my 1.6 n/a vanagon. i used the 1.9golf  diesel pump but it has 5 sets of wires (2 in each set) and a black box at the rear,these werent on my 1.6 pump, the golf engine is 1996 ish, the vanagon motor is 1982, i dont know what these wires are for and the black box thing. which do i connect to 12v and which do i lose? no fuel is coming through and i am loosing all faith !!

I am assuming you have a pump of a mechanical 1.9, like AAZ engine.
I remember a link explaining the cut off valve and another to do with timing. it came from member argolf,date:monday jan23 ,2006.the one on top is the cut off valve: this cuts off the fuel to stop your engine ,simply.the other one regulates the timing.purpose:control emissions in cold state.
It's always interesting to make a foto of the particular parts.it's quick and says it all
Anyone knows the 3 other electr connections?
