WTB: MK2 1.6 TD a/c alternator bracket
« on: March 09, 2014, 10:06:02 am »
Looking for an a/c version alternator bracket off an MK2 1.6.  Assume the diesel and turbo diesel are the same bracket.  I'll just be using the alternator fixture to try to gain some more clearance toward the radiator.  Won't be hooking up a/c.  So if you have one with a buggered compressor fixture, that'll serve my needs.

Thanks

I have a bunch of mk2 AC stuff but not sure what you want. are you talking about the cast iron bracket that the water pump housing bolts go thru or the steel bracket with the slides for the AC compressor?

The cast iron through water pump assembly one.  I just picked up an alternator that might work with the bracket I have.  Looks like the new alternator has a different mounting point than the MK2 a/c diesel alt I was trying to make work.  Not sure if the new alternator is the answer though and how it will affect belt alignment.  I'll PM you if I can't make it work.

On the MK2 the cat piece with the 3 holes that bolts to the WP are the same AC and NON.
