Remote oil filter kit
« on: January 23, 2014, 06:58:21 pm »
Looking to install a remote oil filter kit on the aaz / Samurai. It seems most of them from Summit, [ 16 / 3/4" ] specify; *not for diesel*. Grrrr. Why is this? Propensity to leak / come apart from diesel vibration?

Seems some have success using them and yet many hate them. Which brands are good and which to stay away from?

Thanks.

I used a kit from summit for an oil cooler, but you could use it to remote add a filter. I have no problems after 40,000+ miles. IIRC it was a perma cool, but I am not sure.

I have part of the kit you need.  I have a 1.6TD, 1.9TD oil cooler which has outlets on the sandwich plate and hoses to the cooler.  You'll only need the filter head.   You can  actually run the cooler and the filter together.  It appears I will never use it.  PM  me for more details if so interested.

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, I want to run both the filter relocation and an air to oil cooler.

Sent you a pm Dog for more details.
