td injection pump idle speed adjustment rod
« on: January 22, 2014, 10:23:19 pm »
I have a 91 td jetta with a td pump that has the idle speed boost system as shown in the VW GTI, Golf, Jetta Service Manual for years 1985-1992. In section 6, page 11, Fig 5-3, line item #2, it shows the manual adjustment rod connected to the cold start handle.
I found that my pump is missing the adjustment rod. The mechanism works, because I pulled out my cold start cable, started the vehicle and manually rotated the idle boost lever.
Bottom line, does anyone have the missing rod they would sell to me? Thanks. ken

That sucks.. I almost lost mine I was adjusting my idle and ran out of screw and it the bottom spring and detent sleeve were lost. Make sure you get those two pieces. You will also want to adjust the yoke so there are more threads catching where that thing screws in down at the advance mechanism.
