First post. New to me 1986 Jetta coupe diesel

Just registered on this site. Looks like a plethora of information which is great.

Down to the car. I work as a tech at a VW dealership in Dallas. We had a customer come in whose car I worked on (passat wagon with 181k) this thing was the cleanest car I've ever worked in with that mileage. All maintenance done and rode like a dream. Well the advisor told me that the customer had "some diesel VW" for sale. I was interested customer told me it was an 86 diesel Jetta 2 door. He gave me his info and 2 weeks later I went and checked it out.

He bought it at 32k and it now has 315k in it. No leaks and fired right up when it was ~30 degrees out. Shifted strong and super clean. He had all maintenance records since 32k. Meticulous care to this car. I had to have it.

Anyways ended up getting it for a steal.

Here are some pics

Here is the drivers carpet all original. Owner had seat covers on the car it's entire life and thick floor mats the whole life of the car!

Looking forward to being an active part of this community
