 as you can tell I am excited, Just curious what to expect, i think that this thing is running out of fuel at about 3500 rpm, so i am curious to what the dyno will show.
what would cause a lack of fuel at that rpm? here is my set up
1.6
IHI RHF4 V3 Turbo, Variable gate, ball bearing water cooled running about 20-22 psi boost tops
NA pump Tuned to Turbo specs and then the part load spring eliminated, along with the smoke screw turned in to a light black smoke under full throttle and extended throttle travel
Thats all I can think of, I did a few of the mods today and really noticed a difference but didnt try to take it past 3500 rpm. I am not sure if it would be the governing spring or lack of fuel,
Before the smoke screw, extended throttle travel, part load spring and about 18 psi of boost the Gtech pro registered in at 47 horse at the wheels at 3500 rpm.
does anyone have any TD plots to see what I can expect for a power curve?

well with the mods that I have done i need to back the turbo off since its over boosting and fluttering the turbo at 3500, may be why the power falls off at 3500 rpm
well I will have graphs in a few days but the numbers were 56 hp at the wheels at 3500 rpm, and 97 lbft of torque at 2500 rpm, if you figure 20% drivetrain loss then thats about 70 horse and 120 lb ft of torque
the horse isnt that impressive except that if you consider that the peak power is about 1100 rpm less than the stock peak hp rpm #
so if i can hold the same torque at 4600 rpm that would put me at 73.5 hp at the wheels and about 92 hp at 4600 rpm, so i need to back the boost down a little bit until i get the electronic controler for the variable gate turbo
just thought that i would update everyone

did u say you're running a NA pump on your 1.6L turbo motor?
no wonder you're not making any HP.......
you need one of my super pumps dude.
anyone who is running my pump is making at least 100HP at the wheels
any way up from there.
even my 1.6NA is making 55HP at the wheels!!!

I know, its not that great. its a learning curve for me right now. once I get back to work in 2 weeks and have access to the diesel injection shop I plan on getting more into the pump. and I know that I need to get a bigger plunger for the IP, another thing is airflow, i have a non port matched TDI intake on this IDI head. lots of little things that are hurting me big on the tom end.
Giles what kind of torque do your pumps put out? also can you post a typical power curve for your pumps, i am interested in the curve since i for some reason am peaking out at 3500 rpm. i dont feel like winding this diesel out but if its making peak hp 1100 rpm early then something has got to be up with air or fuel right??

and then the part load spring eliminated
did you eliminated the governor spring?? usually you must find a strongER spring, not get rid of it. It you did... you fuel will be cut at low RPM

Did I show you my governor mod?
