I used a dayco timing belt on my mk4 tdi supposedly they have teflon/ptfe coating on the toothed surface.

Whenever possible, I try to stay the hell away from Conti belts. They stretch more than Gates or Dayco, and I had one snap on a customers car (TDI) after only 58K. I had the pleasure of installing a replacement motor in her car for no labor fees. So yeah, Conti can go eat a bag of
