bad fuel economy

the first thing I would have changed were the fuel injectors, you can fiddle with injection timing all you want, but if your injectors are junk, it will not help. I would also to a compression check first, if thats cool, then get new MATCHED injectors, I bet you see a jump to at least 40 mpg then.

Sounds like my posts from 6 months ago. When I eventiually had to repair an injector pump leak by doing a rebuild, I had a new car. Does 80, great mileage and no smoke. I tried all the things you did. Now I run on 100% SVO

yeah i dont think my pump needs to be rebuilt... its the newest looking part under the hood... and its still all shiny looking sorta...

but i did discover i had a bad rear wheel bearing... i replaced it tonight and it was tore up... bad...

wonder if that could have played a heavy role in my declining fuel economy? and as far as injectors go... should i replace them with stock ones? do an upgrade? how much do they run?

Take the injectors to an injection shop, and have them tested. They will tell you if they are good or not,and should also be able to rebuild them for you.
