my worry is lack of audi 5 banger diesels in 89... i do not think there is a epa standard in usa for it... that may cause some a issue...
ohhh boy pump leaking... the line also fails too.. oil will run out the sheeth/cover on it... but heck one of 3 not bad.. means other 2 are weeks away once you fix the 1st leak... but only after you fix it... kinda like how fixing the door handle one one will make the tranny fail... seriously... back in 88-89 i relized that to keep a broken oor handle one one fixes/prevents others things from breaking... the list...
door handle
auto tranny
rack
line
pump
to keep of those items broken meant the other 4 could slip, leak and do all kinds of weird.. but to fix any 1 will make the rest break in some audi 0000 way.... why the 0000 stands for bank acct after owning...
but if your in a echeck type of place double check... when i do conversions i try to make sure the mfg had a "diesel" in that year i can argue on.. and 89 5 banger diesel were not a usa thing... but it is getting close to 25..
I wonder what his reserve is. The bad syncro, electrical problems, and oil leaks are cause for concern. Not to mention the too short final drive. I would like to have it but I think its worth about what the current bid is. I sure miss my 5GTD.
Biting lip... Can taste the blood...
lol toby.. its a audi 100/5000..if it does not mark it parking spot how would you know the fluids got fluids?
p.s. my father wanted one of those so bad.. got the engines (rebuilt with over bore and all)/shells(not like they rot) to build one.. never did though...
good for someone who likes to work on it.. as long as they rember broken door handle cheaper to keep vs fixing...
Mine never leaked a drop, nor did either of the other 2 that passed through my shop.
