Caddy locking gas cap or door?
« on: September 13, 2013, 08:08:58 am »
Has anyone found a locking fuel cap for a Caddy?

If not, anyone figure out a way to lock the door?

My Jettas have lockers

PN: 191 201 553

EDIT:

Seems AutohausAZ sells the locker for Diesel same as the Audi part linked above.

my findings back in 94..... stant made one... was nla then...

jewlery store type of lock for case.... put hole in door.. cut slot in opening by door for tab to lock into...

no go look at locks for what i mean.. will not spoon feed the thought... but simple if you go look at locks like such..

Jetta cap won't fit caddy. Jetta screw in. Caddy 2 prong bayonet 1/4 turn. I'll make a deadbolt for door with a choke cable unlock.

How about a simple cabinet lock that you install on the door?  Or do you want it to be inside cab operated?

I prefer a no key (to lose) solution.

Can you post your locking Stant p/n? The p/n's I found was unclear whether it's locking or not and with no pics.

No, but with a lock, no one can else can take from it or add to it.

IIRC, the vanagon is a 1/4 turn cap...

So is a MK 1 Jetta locking cap, which has the same bayonet 1/4 turn twist but did not fit the caddy because the o.d. was too big.

My 83 gti gasser cap fits onto my 82 diesel truck?

But niether has a lock so no clue if that makes a difference.
