1984 Jetta Diesel 4 door - midwest
« on: August 26, 2013, 10:30:11 am »
Long story..

i traded mk3 GLX for this car year and half ago - it was a turbo diesel ( aftermarket turbo set up from eclipse )-  i traded this car with the blown head gasket and all parts to fix it for a 1979 Toyota Corona Station wagon...   well today i traded a mk3 GLX back for the car - running and driving.

He took diesel 1.6 stock motor and 4 speed transmission out of 81-82 rabbit and swapped it into this jetta.  its runs and drives just fabulous.
body is stunning - interior is awesome , has coil overs and is VERY VERY low.

All HVAC stuff is removed and in trunk.   When i got car it has 5 toggle switches and other various wires everywhere all over - so he cleaned it up by putting stereo in heater / ac vents in dash and removed the heater box and all vents ( its all in the trunk ) as he daily drove this car...   So yeah that kinda sucks.   Anyone want a project?

located in Lincoln NE 68516 ( well actually 20 minutes south of my house at my shop )

I am probably going to sell all the spare parts separate.  The turbo , down pipe , oil pan tapped for return line , the lines , new head gasket , head bolts , intake manifold tubes and other stuff that was on the car as it was a turbo including the cylinder head.  The IP pump that came on car when i got it was just recently resealed. The one on the car now on engine seems fine and starts up and runs great.    I will include the original 5 speed transmission if someone wants it.

id love $2500 out of it as is....  maybe its wishful thinking but it so solid and with 10 hours of HVAC work will be an awesome car. Well its still awesome.

Here are pics:  take today.

Here is link to photobucket of all pictures - which include some of the turbo stuff and when i got it - they should be in date order so the first page is most recent.

Me too.. Would it be a crime to make it a gas car?
