thats all?? take to machine shop.. let them remove.. i see no reason it cannot be "+1" sized/oversized.. use a allen hheaded bolt.. a us threaded bolt.. or even a heli coil.. 1 bolt will not make it leak.. but how id resolve it...
BUT, I honestly think an AUG in a diesel would be torture. Esp. with such a long fifth cog. You would be shifting all the time (like some sort of drag racer) and then make a long transition into 5th. "Roids" is the only guy I ever saw who thought this was a good idea.
The AUG is closer than my ACN.. and I don't really like that my ACN has a 1.03 4th gear.. I want 4th and 5th to be overdrive gears. 4th is too high rev for my in town and 5 is too low at .75.. GAH.
where I am in town is 25mph to 35mph tops...No need for 4th gear at those speeds no matter what 3rd takes care of that. I need a direct drive. The AGS biggest downfall is the 2 overdrive gears.
That is what I am saying, I am in 5th by 35-38mph.
that is crazy. Put on a turbo with some lag or something.
Even so you must live in a pretty flat area to do that. You shouldn't be shifting at idle.

sad... lugging any engine uses more fuel then say 3rd vs 5th.. at that speed... your wasting fuel..
go find your ideal engine rpm/hp/torque spot.. use that.. 72ish mph in 5th via gps is my sweet spot.. less then that it burns more fuel.. more then that it does too.. that is also the speed or power spot that will hold the steapest of most hills when im not towing.. it runs cooler and pulls better in 4th vs 5th when towing up hills.. else feels like im lugging it..
p.s. stock oil cooler = fail on 75*f day towing car.. must add real one now.. it thermal soakes cooling system and the head.. took a few 30 min breaks on way home from madness when coolent running 100*c to the 110*c on oil... with 80*c stat and fan running pulling pa's hills.. if i let it cool back off like so.. id get 40-50 min till it soaked again.. so be weary of oil and water temps..

No lag = happiness. Why is everyone swapping VNT? No lag, big power lol.
Not flat by any means, probably as hilly as it can be for not being a mountainous area. My entire town is on a hillside, with hills that are EXTREMELY tricky to drive standard on. Like think San Francisco. On my drive to work I pass through 3 large ravines with grades that tax any vehicle and last for 5-6kms. I am in 5th gear for the whole 35 minute drive to work, never have to shift.
45mph in 5th is my engines sweet spot. 1900 RPM. I can pull fair size hills in town in 5th at 1500 = 40mph. One of those hills is a 18% (about 26* slope) anything above 1500.
Lugging? Noway, not in this car. Under 1500 is lugging haha. I can even tow my 2000lbs of loaded ATV trailer in 5th gear through town. (Not up the hills, those require a 4th gear down shift.) Also, I do not pay for my fuel. I haven't bought a drop of fuel since November, 17th, 2011.

I need to intentionally waste fuel because I cannot burn the 40L a week I am allotted through work. So.. I ROLLZ COALZ!
Lucas, your trans gearing and the much larger turbo make it easy for your car to do 2500RPM, mine is screaming and making mad boost at any throttle above 2000. lol.
