diy airbox for my mk1 ver. 1.0
« on: July 07, 2013, 09:23:50 am »
Got tired of the constant sucking noise of the k&n,

so i put this together today in 1/2 hr  using a aluminium maple syrup pail

 - a little hillbillyish I admit  - and still needs some alum duct tape.

Clearly,  Ver. 1.1 will need a proper end cap - vs my attempt at folding over the alum. Just wanted to see if it worked - really eliminated the vacuum cleaner sound of the K& N  Also the intake slot in box is above a open space between the mk1 frame rail and inner fender - so hopefully the cool air will be sucked in

Oh, forgot to mention, my airbox was inspired by watching Mad Max ( 2nd one) and some frothy Canuck ales.  ;D
