You can buy one with a blown gas motor and euro afn b5 engine swap with 6 speed and be it probably would even be half the prive of this thing and it wont be a PD.

you can buy b5 tdi here... they just all need balance shaft delete day you pick it up before you hit key... if you watch myturbodiesel.com besides immo issues the balance shaft ate engine due to op issues gotta be 2nd most common issue asked..

a v6 for 100k costs less to operate w that job added into price easy... tons of 1.8t versons w junk engines that dropped valves due to oil sludgiing too..

that's why I say for cost of all that you can get afn swap for 2 grand shipped. afn is just the alh with bigger nozzles and 11mm pump and longitudinal mounts

buy a v6 running one and win via be able to drive/enjoy as can pass a emissions test if required... sticking tdi's that never in this country in anything newer then 98.. better match with stock crap... not like getting 23 year old thru emissions...

AFN is the same block as the AHU, not ALH.  It also had the VNT turbo unlike the AHU.

ive been following a thread on tx and how if you got a dunebuggy there.. have had it.. this just a renue your plate type of thing.. not new reg or anything.. are saying NO and refusing to sell plates..

over the past year they changed things in bad ways..

cars that are rebuilt/resurected now have to confirm to current year epa/crash crap.. say you rebuild your 80 diesel bunny.. they can say gotta meet 2012 crash/emissions before they sell you a plate... yea its written in it people... but unwriten is what is defined as resuresected/rebuilt... or even a time amount... year, two? how many years does it take to be considered rebuilt?

other states can follow that pretty easy..

i think its to crack down on monkey garage/james type of bikes as sadly its what the law looks to have went after.. us old vw people got screwed in it.. buggy people seem to have gotten the major short end though..
