Stupid EGR delete / race pipe question
« on: June 02, 2013, 12:11:49 am »
Hi all

So I finally got around to replacing my leaking EGR valves in the 2 ALH TDIs I own.

I took the wagon, which hasnt yet had a manifold cleaning on a 4 hour trip, and the new race pipe remained fairly cool to the touch.

I took my golf, which has had the manifold cleaning on about a 15 minute drive, and the new race pipe was fairly warm to the touch.

So, I was wondering if there was a good reason for the difference - the fact that the manifold is plugged on the wagon being the difference?

Any thoughts are welcome, thanks.

Hmm, it seems that I am unable to replicate the race pipe getting warm - went on a longer drive today with it and it all remained cool.
