I haven't done this yet but plan to. you also need to modify the brakelines or replace them. I dont think the kind of proportioning (pressure limiting) valve at the master s compatible, according to bently all GTI and later model A2s had the proportioning valve attached to rear axle. as I recall, the 2 types worked on different pressure limits.
Stock master works but you end up needing more pedal travel to move the rear caliper pistons than you used to move the wheel cylinders = low pedal. Fix is the larger (22mm) master which bolts up to the stock booster. I have heard, but not confirmed that the cars with larger master also had a larger booster to go with it, so you may require a stronger leg using the stock booster. A neighbour has a GTX, I should go snooping under his hood.
Anyone here actually done this?
I plan 4 bolt Passat 10.1" front disks (requires passat steering nuckles swapped in) and rear disks for my A2, but swappng out my bagged (400,000 km) TD comes first.
