i recently installed a tt short shifter with all new bushings, including one for the relay shaft, the round orange one. My shifter is kind of sloppy and i found out it's because that bushign that comes with the tt set is not large enough, so it leaves a quater inch of play on either side in the engine bay. I went to my local performance shop and got some "energy suspension" poly suspension bushings. part 9.8126R 3/8" shock tower w/sm nipple.
pull the old bushing off, complete with nylon core so u just have the metal shaft. clean any grease from under the old bushing. take one of the new red bushings and cut the lip off that's on one side with an exacto knife. take a vice and press the new red bushings onto the shaft, with the one with the cut lip first, then the other, with the lip outwards. lube up the outside and put er back in. %100 better, fits with almost no play.
