This is normally my DD but the other day coming home from work I had a bad vibration. Turned out to be a loose wheel. I had panted the wheels a while back an must have left a bolt loose. I was planning on replacing the front brakes and had the parts on order, but since these parts were not in yet and I was bored I decided to replace the lower control arms. I had gotten some O.E. ones on sale a few months back. I broke the front control arm bolt off. So the rear sub frame had to come out and get taken somewhere to get fixed. Since i was remove the sub frame I decided to remove everything and address some other issues I had. So this is where I'm at.

I bought a bunch off stuff and will post updates soon. Whish me some luck

If you dont screw anything else up while installing the new parts it will be worthwhile to have the peace of mind.

so just an up date. The block and crank are at the machine shop number thee rod had some junk in the bearing. The crank is ok just getting it polished. But since I am getting new bearings I got rings also. So now I will have a refreshed engine. Just think this all started with a loose wheel and a broken bolt. It dose go from one thing to the next. Any advise on putting the engine back together.

I don't understand why people clean off the wax and stuff in there engine bay. I would rsther have a dirty car that a rusty one. Keep up the good work though I like seeing people keep the fath in old idi's and turn them into bomb proof road machines.

so I have gotten a bunch more parts in over the past few days

This is just some of the stuff I have gotten. Now I am just waiting on injectors from Giles. he did not have any in stock had to rebuild some and boots for the rack. I do have one question about the main bearings the set I got looks like it has thrust bearing with it. here is a pict.
I bought these since I was told that the set of mains that I bought did not have them.

do I need them? I have built a few engines before but the thrust bearing were always on one of the mains can someone clear this up for me. I will be getting my block and crank back from the shop in a day or two. Just had the block cleaned and the crank polished.
Had some junk in the number three rod bearing and I could not get the crank sprocket off so that is where my confusion about the thrust bearing comes in any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Don't use the intergrated thrust. Use the separate ones.
