Steering rack boots
«
on:

I have the large-ish "donuts" at the tie rod side for the boots to attach to. Do the boots fit onto the space of the donuts (there is a lip on that end of the boots) or does the lip sit outside of the donut and the clamp goes into that space?
I have never seen a non messed up set of boots........joy.
Thank you for your time and effert.

I have a spring clamp that wants to eat my fingers
(one for each side). When not enjoying snacks, it likes to slide off the donut and down into the area behind the donut and try to pull the boot off the donut to the inside. Eggsucking, raw meat kissing, piece of knockworst liver loving crud maker! (Or something to that effect).

Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become ignorant.

So lip of boot goes into space of donut and then something (zippy or clamp) goes on top to hold lip in space of donut..........yes?

Yep, check your range of motion when done too. And they don't last very long, check every other oil change, cv boots too.
