Yes mk2 and mk3 rear springs just swap in
The backside down stance was due to collapsed and rusted to dust "OEM" (my arse!) spring hats fitted 5 years ago. So in went the twenty year old VW items (which still look almost new!) from the mk3 struts from the scrapyard . There is a lot of utter sh1te being sold out there, so take anything which claims to be of an OEM standard with scepticism. The rotted ones had VW part numbers stamped on them, which fooled me at the time. Mk3 rear suspenion fits fine, but the Mk3 Gti stuff has shorter springs, about 340mm long. My springs on the Mk2 are 350mm which I presume is standard.
