Dang it every post you make about that vnt makes me want mine on so bad.

Someone should start an exhaust Clip thread so everyone can post up their set up and others can get ideas for the sound they want.

I want a VNT too.. I just might have to get one.. See people making 180-200whp on the 1.9 TDI's with the 17/22 combos like its easy.

Make the thread!! I've got to make some errands later I'll take a sound clip of my exhaust note :)

Thread made ;D if I put it in the wrong section feel free to move it! Also, if it takes off, sticky that beast! And I'll forever be a part of diesel history!! Hahaha.

But what Burns me up about the vnts is that I have one sitting in my garage and a turbo motor in my car begging for boost. I just have to get all the other bits together >:(

Mines only a 15 but id love to see what a 17/22 would do on one of these motors! Although I'd be scared to drive my 1900 lbs. Rabbit with 200whp. Haha. If I can hit 100 I think I'd be in a rocketship compared to now.

Here is the muffler I finally decided on. Some of the Audi A6 guys are running these and they sound pretty good.

Duals of the above on a Audi A6

The sound seems very European sports car-like. And raspy on the top end

Interesting. What's it look like on the inside? Is it packed with something or is it hollow? Their website doesn't give up too much information. I'm interested to know what it sounds like on a 1.6 turbodiesel. Maybe you could post a follow-up video when it's installed.

It looks like a perforated tube inside, and Magnaflow packs with rockwool.

Magnaflows either burn out, or clog with soot..

they also crack from all the vibration..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

Never had a problem with either, but I have seen  rub through form scraping on pavement.  Muffler worked fine after  a patch welded on.
Rockwool  is good to about 4X the temp of fiberglass, but I suppose you coiuld use space shuttle ceramic if your post turbo EGT is that high....

Homer if you do end up with one of these on a 1.6td please post it up in the exhaust note thread. I'd love to hear one of those not on a Gasser.

Hmmm, I was hoping to find something like that Magnaflow muffler but hollow, no packing.

Cherry bomb glass pack. I have used them on 1.6 NA, 1.6 TD and my 1.9 M-TDI. Beautiful :).

2.25 SS turbo back. :)
