Meet Jezebel Jetta!



She likes long drives on the highway, the finer fuels in life and she has a great sense of humor.



Oh and she likes travelling with her friends...




If you ask her really nice, she might let you see under the hood...






And she's definitely the kind of girl that can pull her own weight!!






She's got a sister too...



Over the years she's stolen a few bits and pieces from her sister's "closet"... Rear doors... Rear bumper cover... The whole interior...

And over the years she's gotten some love in other places too.  A friend of mine used to run a detailing shop, this was fresh after a full polish and wax:



I seem to love buying her toys... I bought my own trailer this year as the U-Haul ones suck (nothing like a wobbly wheel for 5 hours on the freeway, then you get the same trailer a year later and it's still wobbly...)  Oh and that's her soon-to-be M-TDI in the back...



Some day I need to get some good smoke shots, seems I'm always too busy driving to snap 'em...

Thanks everyone. Yeah I don't see too many other Mk3s as clean as her for sure, especially not early ones. She's got about 330,000 km on her and she drives great. Her sister has about 120,000 and needs a lot of help.

Funny how two nearly identical cars can be so different.... I guess after 5 years of me fixing whatever needed to be fixed I'm ahead of the curve...

Alllllllllllright. How did you know your setup needs (piping and silicone) prior to ordering? I have a much busier engine bay (mk1) and I am torn on how to run it just yet. I was gonna order a small universal pipe kit.. probably 2" and then a bunch of various straight couplers of the right sizes.

Haha I'm pretty OCD when I get going on a project. I spent some time with a sketch pad and a tape measure to sort out what all I needed. Then I did it all again like 3 more times while I was saving up the money...

So yeah I had a pretty good idea of what I needed when I finally ordered everything. Just ask me how many times I've checked out the turbo map for the Gt2056 I'm thinking of buying for my TDI project.

vanbcguy, nice awic install! Please describe differences w and w/o intercooling . In regards to the radiator for the intercooler, I wonder if an AC condenser can be used instead.

There is literally no comparison to no inter cooler compared to a normal air-to-air inter cooler... its that much difference again between the air to air and air to water!

The turbo adds a lot of heat when it compresses air. The more boost, the more heat. Factory boost levels are fairly benign but past about 15 psi the amount of heat being added causes so much expansion that it negates the benefits of the higher pressure.

An intercooler chills the air post turbo back as close to ambient as possible. By cooling the air down it becomes denser, allowing more of it to fit in the engine. The more air you can fit, the more fuel you can burn.

After I added the intercooler I was able to increase my boost up to about 25 psi. Colder denser air will cause the fuel to be burned more completely, which also will result in improved mileage.

So what you get is a potential for more power and better mileage!

Oh btw, AC condenser - I thought of that too, it was my original plan. But the problem is the tubing is so small -  someone else on here did some math and basically showed it would have too much restriction.

The radiator I used was under $100 new on its own and fit great.

Do you know what the flow rate of your pump or system is? I have an aftermarket a/c condenser in mine which is not being used so it would save a lot of work from installing a new radiator in its place. I can  easily test the flow rate of the a/c condense with a particular pump and if not sufficient I could use a bigger pump
