talking to my cali friend tonight abt life, shows, cars... its been determined that a 2nd driver.. car lover... looking to piss away 2 weeks has a oppertunity..

the show is fri july 12th thru sunday july 14th.. fri/sat is camping, drives and such.. show is sunday..

how this works...


guy has place in tahoe ca where he has a tracker and kubvan stored up... both in non op condition.. he wants to get those 2 cars here via my silly idea of box truck with one in back, tow dolly for other.. that gets them here...

once here, #337 kubvan will goto the show.. then back to hear to load up some crap he wants to take back to cali.. then drive kubvan #337 back to tahoe...

he is looking for 2nd driver.. bs person so on... he does not smoke tobacco.. does not like smell of it.. so id say.. no tobacco.. but other medicinal stuff is not a "bad" thing..

dont wanna say pot heads apply... but if your a pack a day smoker.. not a good mix for 14 days of life..

you would be responsible for lodging/food type of thing.. if you wanna help on fuel great.. but 14 days of driving by self sux.. 2nd person to bs and share driving great..

so road trip... mk1 madness in kubvan... pa to cali via kubvan... trip you will like.. honestly.. my 13 day trip was great... just wrong directions..

if all else fails i guess ill have to ask bbob if he wants too.. so he can ride from cali to show.. then some other time go for ride back to cali in #337... no 2nd person he not driving 2 weeks.. he drive here, do show then fly home and one day drive 337 to cali..

#337 is a 1.6na 5speed lowfloor version.. so not a speed box.. but 65-75 is no issue...

  cross country 3 is enough.. kinda gets hard being that close to someone for miles... at end of 13 days was ready to take leg from my ride along to beat him over the head w/ it... and ive known him for years...

strangers.... why i stated smoking issue.. get that taken care of as it would be issue.. i dont care if you think you can go with out smoking few hr at time... those first 48hr of trip sucks... and by what day will it be annoying..

till crossin a desert w/doors open.. at speed.. too bad not mine... its such a odd thing... kubvan is a unique ride/car to go places.. by end of trip.. you will search for your own to buy...

wanna double up? 2 kubvans forsale by where show is.. 5k each... buy.. let them store.. pick up for show weekend... car pool/trip back... they both auto.. so kinda suck for 65mph.. but ways to get kubvan from south east pa to cali.. there ya go... road trip.. get you back to my area.. do 5 speed swap... roll it to cali/west home of yours.. hell add td to it even.. bring td/5speed to my area... drop off.. goto show.. get van.. bring back to here.. drop td/5 speed in... have hell of ride back west..

so yes this post is for those dreamers of poor car guy from out west wanting to go east for a show... fun times... then go home... or a oppertunity to buy car/mod car so on too..

337 is here w/me and will be prepped for trip to cali... so its get here.. screw off... show... go home... the question is on the "screw off time" as before or after show.. aka build car to drive back west..

i did my trip in 13 days... 4 was in san fran.. 1 was at show, 1 was petrified forest.. 1 wasted in phynoix.. and on way back 2nd driver no drive.... so lost time for sleep and not moving... i know guy will wanna see him family for day or 2.. hell ill hide you out w/me for those few days to let you have a vac even.. trust me.. 13 days of hell... 1 or 2 days seperate in middle is REQUIRED.. else on day 13 you will be like me... pullin hair..

and that engine will return to cali in #337... i have it here.. waiting for $... but the 2 in cali to ohio, 337 are a before that type of thing..

so yea that the same person.. he keeping 1 tracker there for the swap... 1 comes here for swap.. resurect the #397 he has had in cali all these years.. the original crs kubvan project (cis 8v gasser w/020)... he ran it cali/ny 5 times min... till you do a cross country in one.. its freeken sweet... ive done denver few times so on in car... hundreds of times north/soth... but kubvan to date.. best trip car ever..

and its not for cold/ride/noises or such... its the onlookers.. the people who have to stop and bs with you on wtf is that?? the 23hr of fuel stops on my 3600mile trip.. hell id say unless it was 3am.. someone had to bs during the fill.. maybe 2x in my life pre kubvan does that happen..

but yes you, bbob or me will have a west coast tracker conversion... just backburner... his "parking lots" in cali needs resolved..
