Picked this up for very cheap, site unseen, pretty much minimal information.
I took the gamble and grabbed a rental car and drove 400 miles to southern Oregon (Kalamath Falls), picked the car up, witnessed a 6 year old crying because her favorite car was being sold, and then promptly drove it 7 hours back north thru the Oregon mountains near Crater Lake.
Completely uneventful. I did the whole thing with 4 gears as the PO told me it was a 4 speed. They had a FJ cruiser 6 speed knob on it so I didnt even try to go into fifth.. luckily it was all back roads..
Today Casey asked what the tranny code was (3M) and then promptly schooled me.
Anywho heres some pics from yesterday.
I especially like the first one.. its got a period correct kinda color scheme going on.
This was taken on a loggin road that I did some serious rally racing on
Im currently knee deep in ripping to interior apart to fix some sketchy wiring.. Ill post more pics too once I upload em!
I had to move the ole girl out of the garage, and even though ive yanked all the engine wires, and the fuse block is barely plugged in and the interior is ripped out, she started right up with no smoke.. YAY
looking a bit haggard
Thats a good looking car!
they both are!
Very nice on both accounts...
I really want to road trip around the states. Oregon reminds me of BC very much. Beauty's!
