How are these better than the ARP studs made specifically for VW turb0-diesels?
Usually a good alternative to brand name means they cost less, not more!
Just a warning to those who might have bought these:I got hold of a set of these studs for my compound 1.6TD build. The bolts lost their tension after a few test runs at only 20-30psi boost, tried torquing them up again and one broke at 115ft-lbs, less than what the ARPs are spec'd for (125ft-lbs)Got them out and exchanged one by one for ARP, some of them showed signs of being stretched and close to break. Have since then heard of about 15 engines with these head studs and failures....ARPs didn't help me, head gasket is blown so I need to take the engine out again...
