VW diesel hybrid, 0-60 4 seconds, 50mpg
« on: March 01, 2006, 02:06:12 pm »
Check this out.  A hybrid using a TDI from a Jetta, and a 150kW drive package from AC propulsion to get 0 to 60 times of 4 seconds.  And it gets 50mpg.  Built by some high school students for $100grand, which isn't much for a one-off prototype car.

Leo819 was trying to get them to come to TDIFest 2006, last I heard. They're like 20 minutes from the Fest site.

This was actually not a full one off car if I recall. It was built on a kit from europe but I can not recall the details. Still a very cool car.
