A forum member sent me this MK2 gasser tach for conversion to a W terminal diesel tach. Here's a video of it being calibrated in the engine bay of my EcoDiesel.
Send me your MK1 or MK 2 gasser tach and I will convert it, send you a video of it in operation before sending it back to you via USPS with delivery confirmation. Please PM me for details and price.

That would depend on how much I purchased the gasser tach for, which I do not have any at the moment. I would be happy to convert yours if you send it to me.

Gasser tachs I would assume does not have a W terminal. If that's the case, you can go inside the alternator and solder a wire onto the unrectified side of one of the diodes to bring out the W terminal. I have done that to two alternators now and I can say it works.

That's great! Sounds like it was an easy install! You're my first customer to send me a tach for conversion (1st post this thread). Thanks!

I finally got to install mine and it was super easy and worked perfectly just as promised and advertised. I spoke with the seller and he was really helpful in describing how to install and adjust it. He even offered his number if I needed help while doing the install. Can't recommend him enough.
If you don't have a tach, this seems like the easiest and cheapest way in the world to get one. It's been really nice to know that I'm keeping my rpm's where they should be. I compared my driving by ear to the tach, and I'm pretty accurate, but 60 bucks is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
Thanks again!

Are you just able to do the mk1 and 2's? I have a b5 that I've converted to diesel which is using "W" terminal alternator.
