Don't feel too bad.
Recently my friend wen 5 blocks to the gas station to fill the truck for his wife to take to work the next AM.
He was already rolling, but not on the street when he switched the lights on.  this is about 9PM.
Gang patrol lights him up, and start insisting he's on speed, and had best just admit it.  He's not, and doesn't.
They search the truck, search him.  He cooperates, secure in the knowledge he's clean.  They find nothing.
'OK, now we are taking you downtown.'
"???"
"You seem high. Admit it"
Cuffed in the back of the car, hauled to one police station, then another, blood test administered.
Holding cell till 5:30.  "OK, you are free to go.  We'll contact you if your test is positive."

Yep, that *** was negative.  Way to treat a local resident and business owner with no priors for anything.
Oh, they also kept his license, he had to get a new one from DMV.

there are good cops and bad cops.  ive run into some jerk offs and some nice guys, they're just like everyone else. unfortunately tho the jerk offs get to cost us money or time like in the "speed" case.  i've never been left go on a speeding ticket even ones that were only about 10-15 over, its a long straight open road that is 25mph should be 40, but i guess those are their money making roads and i was indeed speeding but come on give me a break!!!!  not such a big deal but definitely an over reach on the cops part, was back in highschool the exit for the school was a road it shared with the neighboring housing development, it had a light to get on one of the main roads of york.  Well if you went through the development instead there was no light and less people went that way so u got out quicker.  But the people who lived on that street seemed to be annoyed that a few cars drove on the public street they lived on from 3:00-3:30 so they called the cops and the one day i was about the 4th car back leaving through that road and a cop runs out of the bushes into the middle of the street with his arms out to stop everyone and pointed for everyone to pull over to the side of the road(none of use having done anything except for drive down that street), he checked all of our licenses and left everyone go but me because my headlights were illegal due to yellow high beams and blue tinted h4 normal bulbs.  just had to fix it, get someone to verify i replaced the bulbs then mail in a signed post card.

I've had mostly good luck with cops (knock on wood) only ticket was for 70mph in a 45...I deserved that ticket...luckily he didn't make me appear in court, he couldve.

2nd pull over was for 37 in a 30, kinda dumb. Cop read my plates wrong and thought I was using someone else's plates. Called the tow truck and right before they left with the truck and me standing by the road with all my tools, cop realizes he read the number wrong. Lets me off with a warning, after wasting 30 minutes of my time and my girlfriends gas, seeing how she was the only one who could come get me.

A couple other warnings, one for driving with no lights except headlights, yeah all my lights were out, luckily the cop was off duty and just told me to be careful.

I've spent hours on the side of the road refusing, or getting searched for nothing, and been ticketed for carrying proper legitimate registration papers.
I've also walked away from 70 in a 25, carrying contraband, roaming a 'closed area'....And in court, the results have been 50/50.
As far as I can tell, when you talk to a cop, something random is going to happen, so it's best if you can avoid talking to them.

Why do you use so many "..."  and random spacing?

Your posts are so hard to read and rarely follow in any sort of traditional writing dimension. I have no idea what happened in your story other than a car was impounded for an expired plate, which I thought was on a trailer, and I ended up not knowing anything about your situation.

If you're anything in person like you are on here, including your disregard for police, then Im not surprised they took your car.

I understand completely. It's all I can do not to jump the bench and strangle the judge.
I'm lucky I haven't been in a while.

Whooooooooa there fellers. I'm all for the banter as I do believe we have livened this place up from what it was 4 years ago..

But the blatant disrespect for the law is your own opinion, and quite frankly is not welcome here. :) Keep the law bashing to PM's or in ya'head.
