Glow-Plug Timer Relay.

Looking to buy a glow-plug timer relay for my b5 gas to idi conversion. Since I'm needing to buy one, looking for something that stays on a bit longer than the stock ones. Lots out there but not sure as to what amperage I should be looking for, and what would a reasonable length of time it should be on be. I know in my 7.3 power-stroke the glow plugs stay on even after the engine has been started, I'm thinking something similar would be good.

Also - what's a Adjustable Pulse Timer as I see some adjustable (1-90 second) timer-controlled 30A relay's that are listed as adjustable pulse timers. I like the adjustability and amperage but not sure on the pulse part.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I'd suggest my manual glow plug relay that I make and sell for $60. It will make your glow plugs last longer. A foot switch turns the glow plugs on anytime for as long as you need to or want to. A buzzer sounds and the glow LED illuminates as long as the foot switch is depressed. When the engine is warm, glow plugs are not needed so no action (pushing foot switch) is required, prolonging glow plug life. No wiring needed. Just plug my glow relay in the socket and mount the foot switch (included and wired up to the relay)

I don't know why you'd need more on'time, but you can add a resistor in line with the sensor, or use a slow glow relay with Bosch Duraterms.  You can drive a 7.3 start or glow relay with your stock one if you don't think the stocker can handle the juice.

You live in California ;) haha. The AAZ's utilize an afterglow system. Where, temperature dependent, the glows can stay on for up to 4 minutes after the engine has started. I commonly leave my manual glows on for the first two minutes of a cold start, it really helps everything get up to temperature much faster.

When you are starting these beasts in single-digit Fahrenheit temps.. it helps wonders.
