Tygon C-210-A is what I've been using almost exclusively for the last few years on many vehicles. Excellent hose.http://www.mcmaster.com/#tygon-c-210-a-tubing/=kqhp94

I've just been running plain jane 1/4" clear vinyl hose from Lowe's on my MK2 for almost 3 years now. It was like 15 cents/ft. Many people told me it was a bad idea and that diesel would "dissolve it" in a matter of hours, oh how wrong they were.
I have been using the stuff at the link below for years now as well. In fact I got my first vw diesel 3+ years ago and that jetta is still using the original run of this hose. It still bends and seems pliable enough that I haven't had to cut off the ends when doing maintenance even though you can see clamp indent marks. So I use it for every car now. I like the thicker wall stuff that requires a bit of force to go over barbs.http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/119/135/=o2ym7eI am guessing it doesn't get too wet during normal driving conditions and I have not had any kind of wierd failure yet.If you look at their catalog I think they actually offer a couple "diesel" rated type of hoses as far as the spec sheets but I never bothered to try that stuff out because of how well the above works.
